I have just listened to “Canto de Maria Clara”. It is a very beautiful interpretation of Rizal’s poem, I have really liked it very much, I had only listened to the interpretation of Iloilo singer Guillermo Gómez, but being him such an old man, his style is quite different (although his version is also very beautiful)
Are you going to sing more poems of the giants of filipino literature in the future such as Rizal or Fernando Mª Guerrero?
Glad you dig it. Creating a contemporary version is indeed a challenge. I have yet to hear the version by Gomez. Would appreciate if you can share. The idea to produce more already crossed my mind. Maybe in the future and if we can find funding for that.
Hi Clementine, this is the version of Guillermo Gómez. He recorded most of the songs with a rondalla many years ago.
